Recently, I was asked to spend time reviewing Global Voices, a website dedicated to gathering and sharing news from all over the world. Available in over twenty languages, the site aims to involve journalists, reporters and citizens from every culture and background.
I spent a few minutes browsing the site. I found it fascinating.
Citizens are changing the face of journalism. News is more easily and readily shared from every part of the world. Global Voices sheds light onto stories that otherwise would not be seen or shared. To know what is happening in the backyard of individuals from Italy, France and Spain is a powerful thing. There is always an opportunity to learn more. And learn more. And learn more.
Global Voices not only shares stories, but also gives a humanistic view. It brings reality to the everyday and mundane stories. It packs emotion and enriches culture. It makes readers listen and feel for someone they will never know living in a different "world" thousands of miles away.
